Description
18TH C. ANTIQUE FRENCH PAW FOOTED SILVER MUSTARD POT WITH COBALT GLASS INSERTAvailable for your consideration is this old silver mustard pot with cobalt blue glass insert. The pot measures about 3 1/4" tall and 2 1/4" in diameter. Hand chased pierced silver holder, intricate designs including winged cherubs, garland, torch, primary medallion of a peasant girl (?), pineapple finial, and claw footed. No chips, nicks, or cracks on glass insert which also has a ground and polished top rim and bottom base. The silver shows general wear from handling; pot wobbles on flat surface due to one paw being slightly out of alignment with the other 3, superficial dents and dings primarily on the rim of the lid. The silver marks were attributed to Pre-Revolutionary France, House of Burbon. The warranty mark appears ot be either a 'J' or 'T' under crown with one pellet, and an unknown makers mark, GR in heart cartouche beneath a rub worn crown fleur de lys mark.
