Description
By order No. 55 of 27 May 1957, the commander of the Warsaw Military District established a course for parachute instructors.The goal of the course was to develop training methods in landing troops and to parachute the commanding staff for new division sub-units.
The training included 28 officers.
The first jumps were made from the parachute tower in Nowa Huta and then from the plane to the airports in Balice.

of June 26, 1957, ordered the 6th Pomeranian Airborne Division to be transformed into an Airborne Division.
From the instructor course, JW 4115 was created, with a total of 282 military personnel and 3 contract employees - named the 9th Airborne Battalion School.
Staff arriving at the Division was directed to JW 4115 where they underwent theoretical and practical parachute training.
In August 1957, sub-units were created: a school assault company, a school artillery battery, a transport and utility platoon and a communications platoon.
On November 5, 1957, the first soldiers were incarnate.
On November 8, 1957, training began on January 16, 1958. JW 4115 was moved from Kraków to Niepołomice.
In May 1958, the commander of the 6th Pomeranian Airborne Division ordered to organize an NCO school in Niepołomice.
Initially, the training course lasted nine months, and since 1966, six months.
The first stay of the NCO started on June 1, 1958. That same year, in July, the entire personnel of the unit received burgundy berets "red berets", and in October the Commander of the Warsaw Military District, General Józef KUROPIESKA, handed the unit a banner with the act of granting.
On March 15, 1963, the entire personnel received triangular emblems of burgundy color with embroidered parachute.
Since 1973, soldiers of JW 4115 have been actively participating in UN peacekeeping missions.
