    Description

This sale is for the polarizer set only.
You will receive three polarizers.  One is sized to fit in the microscope lens housing and the two others fit the LED side lights.
Originally developed for the ADSM-201 and 302, it also fits the newest Andonstar ad407.
Note: The side light polarizers fit inside my lights, but I have received reports that the newer Andonstar units have a design change and there is not room inside for the thickness of the polarizers.  In this case, use a drop or two of Duco cement or
Guerrilla glue and adhere them to the outside of the aluminum ring so they will spin with the ring.
In the link below you will see a live demonstration of the operation of the polarizers.
This is also useful when examining shiny objects like coins, or especially useful in analyzing natural elements (rocks, gems, insects) that sometimes have a defined polarization component to their structure.

For those of you who might ask me about my soldering station, I can explain.  Yes, I have mounted the AndonStar ADSM201 upside down using its original base screwed to my shelf that holds the monitor.  This gives me 8.5 inches of working depth to the pcb for soldering.  At this working depth, the field of view is 45mm X by 28mm Y and I have a depth of field in excess of 30mm.  The big tube with the paper towel rolls is a fume extraction system with carbon filter. I use a JBC soldering station and can truly say it is the best iron I have ever used.  I used to get a sore neck from stooping forward while soldering.  I now sit straight up in my chair and can see everything through the monitor as I solder.  I can highly recommend the AndonStar ADSM201 for PCB rework or new work.  Note:  This polarizer set also fits the newer ADSM301 and ADSM302, and AD407 microscope.
    Thanks for your interest,   John
