Description

Leitz S/N 633751 Labolux POL petrographic microscope with trinocular phototube.  Includes pol rotating stage, 6V15W lamp (plus 3 new spare bulbs).   Includes USA Ludl 6V transformer for use in the lab and a compact 6V factory transformer for use in the field (fits inside carrying case).  Includes factory mahogany carrying case with proper fittings for this microscope.  Beautiful dovetail assembly is a work of art in itself.
Quintuple revolving pol nosepiece with centerable RMS thread and paired centering keys.  37mm mechanical length 170mm tube length strain-free objective set (P):  3.5x, 10x, 22x oil and water and 40x/0.65.  Includes Leitz compensators mica (1/4 lambda) and gypsum (full lambda).  Blue daylight conversion filter in holder for dust window.  Field diaphragm in base.  Aperture diaphragm in condenser with swing out top element.  Rotating polarizer and in/out analyser.  Compensator slot in nosepiece.   The 22x oil or water immersion lens is quite rare and useful with the 0.65na for improved resolution in the mid-range mag.
Trinocular phototube with 100/100 split and photo tube adapter plus DIN 23.2 ocular adapter.  Includes special 10x photo ocular and iPhone adapter.  Specify desired iPhone case:  4/4S, 5/5S/SE,
6/6S, 7, 8 or X.   If you do not want the iPhone adapter we will supply ten (10) extra 6V15W light bulbs.   Be sure to note your requirement when ordering.
Includes wonderful Leitz Patzelt book on Polarized Light Microscopy as well as factory instruction books ...all English versions.

Comes with Leitz Opak metallurgical vertical illuminator with quad nosepiece and Leitz objectives PL 8x and PL 16x (both infinity corrected) for use with opaque samples without coverglass.
Lamp is easily removed from the transmitted light port and then inserted into the Opak vertical illuminator.  This is not a pol vertical illuminator but could be easily set up for simple polarized light if needed.  Very good for polished ore sample microscopy or materials science studies.
This is a real German-made scientific instrument that has many years of good microscopy ahead.  You cannot get anything from China like this and for this price.   A classic piece of design and manufacturing expertise from Wetzlar.
