    Description

s/n 695345 is toward the end of Ortholux production and includes the upper lamp port and in-base field diaphragm for transmission duties.   Original 30W lamps left a lot to be desired for photomicroscopy in polarized light and darkfield.   Here I have adapted two Leitz modern 12V 100W halogen lamps and we include three spare bulbs and the USA made 12V power supply with meter.   Great look and great function using old and new.
FSA (parfocal ocular and camera focal plane) tube with 80/20 (photo-ocular) or 100 ocular split.  Paired M-Periplan 10x viewing oculars.  Beautiful Leitz fitted accessory case (but missing the key)....work of art in itself!   Quad 1.25x nosepiece along with UO adapter to use any UO objective (minus condenser) on a nosepiece RMS hole.   Includes UO (Ultropak) vertical illuminator in chrome along with integrated polarizer in rotating mount.  Easily swing out the polarizer for normal incident darkfield illumination.  Includes separate analyser for use on UO vertical illuminator or quad nosepiece in transmitted light.
Now the good part.....a really nice set of Leitz UO incident light darkfield objectives with variable condenser on all but the UO 3.8x that is "fixed".   UO = Leitz exclusive "Ultropak".   A very sought-after kit by any serious Leitz collector.  This set includes the UO 3.8x, UO 6.5x, UO 11x, UO 22x and UO 50x.   I am also including the fine long working distance Leitz objective lens called UMK 32x.  This has a built-in iris for contrast control.  It is 170TL corrected and 37mm mechanical.  NA=0.40 with a FWD of 6.1mm.   Great for 3D small object photography using external side light or the transmitted light condensers.
Condensers for transmission include the usual 602 (0.90 achromatic swing out top lens) and a really nice Leitz dry darkfield  that includes the required DF insert that is usually long gone when you see them listed on ebay.   Source a second transformer and combine transmitted and incident light  using the UO vertical illuminator and one of these two condensers for transmission.   All kinds of lighting is possible...BF, DF, POL....add PHACO (phase contrast after Zernike) or Pv (phase contrast after Heine) if you want to view really small, unstained/live critters or diatoms.   We can help you source the missing items or help you identify them on ebay before pulling the trigger.   Free Leitz advice prior to any purchase.  We can tell you about using older Leitz film camera adapters with your modern full frame DSLR or MILC.
This is  a unique offering from Bunton  buntgrp dot com in MD.   Only a firm like ours can transfer our 60 plus years of Leitz expertise into a really fine microscope for the discriminating microscopist who appreciates fine German craftsmanship and optical performance.   We ship UPS Ground to USA LOWER 48 only....no exports.
Enjoy immediate use out of the box.   Have fun doing the assembly and learning about the Leitz classic research model....Ortholux ONE the flagship from Leitz for over 30 years.  Includes instructions on both the Ortholux and Ultropak kit.
