An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George III Newcastle sterling silver drum mustard pot; an addition to our Georgian silver condiments collection
This exceptional antique George III silver mustard pot has a plain cylindrical form.
The surface of this Newcastle silver drum mustard pot is embellished with the engraved initials 'WJS'.
The upper and lower rims of this fine example of Georgian silverware are ornamented with impressive applied bead decorated borders.
This mustard pot is fitted with a plain domed hinged cover surmounted with an urn style cast finial in addition to a cast lobed thumbpiece in junction with the hinge.
This exceptional antique silver mustard pot and spoon is fitted with an S scroll handle.
The interior of the mustard pot is fitted with a blue glass liner.
This Georgian mustard pot is supplied with a fine and impressive associated Victorian Newcastle sterling silver mustard spoon; bearing hallmarks for the Newcastle silversmith John Walton.
The spoon retains the original gilding and is ornamented with the engraved initials 'JW' to the handle terminal.
This exceptional example of Georgian silverware was crafted by the collectable Newcastle silversmiths Robert Pinkney & Robert Scott II.
Condition
This antique silver mustard pot and spoon is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in excellent condition. The original gilding to the Victorian silver spoon shows signs of wear, in keeping with the age. Full Newcastle hallmarks struck to the underside of the mustard pot and reverse the spoon handle are all very clear.
