WEIGHT:
The piece weighs 270 grams or 9.5 ounces which is mostly due to the black ceramic insert, as the sterling by itself won't be this heavy. Not sold for scrap.

Susan Johnson Thomas and Richard French Allen were married around 1827. They had one daughter, Mary Ann Allen, born February 24

, 1829 who was my great, great grandmother. Susan Johnson Thomas and Richard French Allen died of consumption around 1830, orphaning their daughter, Mary Ann Allen. Mary Ann Allen married Ellis Clarke and had my great grandmother, Gertrude Vaughn Clarke, August 28

, 1869 as well as 3 other children. Gertrude Vaughn Clarke married Marmaduke Dudley Smith and had my grandmother, Margaret Vaughn Smith, April 4

, 1903 and Gertrude Dudley Smith. Margaret Vaughn Smith married Dr. Francis Wells Davison who had Dr. Joan Dudley Davison and Dr. Richard Alvin Davison, my father. Dr. Richard Alvin Davison passed away April 1

, 1974. The sterling silver mustard was given to me when my grandmother passed away in 1988 and has been in a silver chest since March, 1988. Margaret Vaughn Smith Davison, my grandmother, provided the family history for this mustard pot.
CONDITION:
Good condition for it’s age (220 years old) with some scratches and dents. Used and in functioning order.
